This post comes to you in a panic mode because I forgot it was Thursday. Time has not been my friend lately and it’s more and more clear, that I need more of it! But let’s not dwell on that because I got political comedies to recommend. Which, when I saw this theme, caused me another tiny panic attack because I honestly have no idea what list of three movies awaits for you past this point. Plus, with the current political climate, I don’t think there’s anything funny about politics – but here I am, finding the humour during the dark times.

1. SWING VOTE (2008)

I’ve definitely seen this film but I can hardly remember it. I just recall thinking that this is an impossible scenario that the movie is trying to sell as a possibility. But it has Kevin Costner and he’s okay, I guess. So yes, this is such a random and non-descriptive little recommendation that I don’t even know why I bothered. Oh and the plot is about the presidential election being decided by this one guy, who’s vote can literally swing it either way.

2. DAVE (1993)

Not completely sure but pretty sure that I’ve seen this film. At least the premise of Dave sound familiar. An ordinary man is asked to replace the President because he is in a coma. To avoid any drama, they hire the look alike. Well, and that plot sounds super familiar, so I’ve either seen this film and forgot about it, or there’s another President double film out there. Either way, I’m pretty sure I still enjoyed it.

Finally something I can be very sure about – Team America: World Police. A movie that is very dark and very funny at the same time. Which is exactly what you would expect from a movie created by the South Park guys. It also has a very early 2000’s movie trailer, which I just watched and laughed about. Like honestly, those were the times!

  • ‘Merica! Fuck yeah!!!!! I’m so ashamed in being an American right now. We’re the stupidest country in the world all because we have a narcissistic, racist, xenophobic asshole as our dictator.
