It’s another horror related Thursday Movie Picks and this time it’s all about teens! Now, I think I’m slightly cheating with one of my horror picks as they main characters are more kids than teens but I’m too tired. Plus, I’ve yet again started to write this super late so it’s going to be a short one. Sorry, I just can’t seem to schedule these in advance EVER. Now I’m paying the horrific price.
Not even bothering with pictures today. That’s how exhausted I am.
1. LET THE RIGHT ONE IN (2008)
This is the Swedish original vampire movie about a young boy who befriends a strange girl. She is not ordinary and well, things get a little spooky. They made a US version of this with Chloe something Moretz and I didn’t like it at all. The Swedish version is great! The lack of CGI makes it more believable as well. Less is more I say!
2. DETENTION (2011)Â
I can’t remember much about this movie except that the intro was amazing! I think I even did a post about it but I’m too tired to look for it. If you’re curious, I’m sure there are Youtube videos of it. Remember watching it for Josh Hutcherson, who was my bae for a short period of time. Now, it’s a good addition to a horror list which is apparently all over the place. I vaguely recall a huge bear.
3. THE COVENANT (2006)
Pretty sure I’ve mentioned this before? Maybe even more than once. Have you seen it yet?! It’s a must! It’s not the best but it’s so entertaining and it has young Sebastian Stan. So basically a great guilty pleasure movie everyone should enjoy at least once. If you have a thing with spiders, not recommended. I don’t have a thing but The Covenant has a scene that even creeps me out.

We match with The Covenant! I can’t believe somebody else thought of that film.
Haha! It’s a gem isn’t it!? I saw it so many years ago and I still remember it. That’s how good it is really. It’s not the best but damn, it is memorable. 😀
I only saw Let the Right One In and I enjoyed it but I actually preferred the remake 🙂 I don’t know, something about the original just wasn’t working for me
Good they made the remake then and you got to enjoy the movie! 😀
Okay I need to see The Covenant for young Sebastian Stan! I wasn’t bothered about spiders until I watched the ending of Enemy, and now…ugh.
Ha, well The Covenant has a pretty gnarly spider scene so you’ve been warned! 😀
The only thing I remember from The Covenant is Sebastian Stan. It’s a very good memory 😀
It sure is!
Since I’ve rewatched The Craft, I’d like to rewatch The Covenant…it’s almost like the guy version.
It kind of is.. I haven’t seen The Craft yet! I feel like it would have been perfect for me as a teen but now let’s see what adult me thinks. 😀
