This week’s theme is a mix of everything really. A bit of romance, a bit of comedy and then some drama. It was easy enough to pick the three movies to recommend because I haven’t seen many magical ageing movies. I bet I’ll find all these picks in other lists this week!
1. THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON (2008)
The only pick in this list that is about ageing down – aka really old Brad Pitt turns to a baby Brad Pitt. While the movie might not have wowed me plot wise per say, the visual achievements are amazing to witness. Young and fresh faced Brad Pitt? I mean, yes please! All in all though, this movie is unique and strange in a good way.
2. BIG (1988)
I think I might have recommended this one already but it’s the prefect choice for this week. Big stars Tom Hanks, who plays a kid that makes a wish, and becomes an adult over night. There’s also a bit of a weird plot element that rubbed me the wrong way during my recent rewatch. Other than that though, this movie is funny and teaches a good lesson.
3. 13 GOING ON 30 (2004)
The title gives away the movie pretty well, referring to a girl, who magically becomes 30 over night. With Jennifer Garner and Mark Ruffalo starring, the movie is actually sweet and I really liked it back when it came out. Honestly, I can still see myself liking this one even now.

I also picked Benjamin Button and 13 Going On 30. I don’t remember much about them though.
I think I have forgotten more about Benjamin than 13 Going On 30. The last one I remember quite well.
Curious Case of Benjamin Button may be the best movie David Fincher has made. Maybe The Game comes second.
Zodiac will remain my favourite.. the subject matter is more intriguing to me. 🙂
Big is definitely a perfect choice for this list. Hanks embodied a pre-teen boy so damn well.
