Even though most of this year has been about not expecting anything. And the end of 2020 slowly taking away all hope, I’m trying to stay positive even though everything seems awful and getting progressively worse. Anyway, as I said, despite of all this I’m gonna try and look forward. Towards recent movie trailers I have stumbled upon. So this is a very random post about a few recent movie trailers I’ve seen that made me excited about the movies.
Love is ugly. Yes it is beautiful and heart warming, but sometimes it’s just brutal, painful, and not very pretty. Love is messy. Not just cluttered with emotions, but also with feelings, lust, hopes, temptation and everything else piled upon itself. Love is raw. It is unfiltered, exposed, unapologetic and vulnerable. Call Me By Your Name is a love story that is ugly, messy and raw – and it’s wonderful!
During the announcement for the 90th Academy Award nominees, I was luckily preoccupied with a few work things, and wasn’t paying attention. Good thing too, because the wait, the anticipation and the nerves would have been torture. And the pressure to seek out one particular nomination was also lifted, because right when I logged onto Twitter, I saw what I most wanted to see.
Loved by many, Lady Bird was high on my anticipation list for quite some time. I expected it to be an indie gem, thought provoking and filled with great performances, and to be completely honest, it met all my expectations. I’m a sucker for teen dramas, and even though I dislike annoying protagonists, Saoirse Ronan in the middle of Lady Bird and its atmosphere, all just worked.
