You know that feeling when something’s so perfect that you just hate it. Yeah, there’s a word for love and frustration all rolled in one – it’s “ugh”. And you know what usually makes me grind out that word, beards. Really good beards. Because no matter how closely I look, or how many times I inch towards that screen, that beard is not as close to me as it should. And yes, this is a lust post – enjoy!
Well, for some the waiting and spoiler-avoiding is over, we have seen Infinity War and our verdict is in. For me, what felt like the most up-and-down week in 2018 so far, I felt a bit underwhelmed by the latest Marvel entry. I even cheated a little on Captain America with Thor, but let’s not dwell on that too long.
It’s been a month since I saw Thor: Ragnarok – my first Thor movie that I experienced on the big screen. I knew it was going to be better than the first two introductions to Chris Hemsworth’s Marvel character, but I didn’t expect to walk out with so much positive energy. Thor: Ragnarok is upbeat, funny and colourful. So much so, that you are distracted by its flashiness and you end up seeing past its flaws.
Includes minor spoilers from the trailer.
Last week went by so fast, and I have a feeling this one is going to end sooner than I would like as well. It always happens during the easier weeks, when the stress is minimal, and there’s more free time. The free time just gets lost, and then suddenly it’s Monday again. Am I making sense? Probably not, but then again, it’s Monday and nothing ever makes sense on Mondays.
Last year I mentioned Comic-Con in my Commercial Break but I’m upping my game this year and dedicating an entire post to it! That’s right, a post filled with stuff that was released during Comic-Con! This post will cover mostly trailer reactions, good and bad, and a few panel discussions, those of which I was the most interested in. And as it turns out I was rather interested in a lot of things, because there are 20 talking points total! Good luck!
It has come to my attention that the year 2017 has almost hit its mid-point and with that in mind, I figured I’d recap what has happened movie wise this year so far. This post is inspired by the popular Mid-Year Book Freak Out tag that I’ve seen around in the book community but since I’m still all about being a movie blogger at heart, I decided to turn it into a Midyear Movie Madness instead. So this is a post that will recap the last 6 months of 2017 in terms of movies, and to make things more interesting, I’m only sticking to movies I saw in the theater!
There are a few spoilers ahead, you’ve been warned.
Last week was rather productive. I managed to post five posts!, I read four books and I worked 6 days total – I’m surprised I survived but I won’t celebrate yet, I have a similar work week ahead of me. Part of me wonders if I’m even able to move after this month is over, not to mention the fact that my brain needs a reboot of some sort in the upcoming months. I’m hoping my sick leave will give me that two weeks of rest my mind needs…. but when will that happen? Who knows!?
