This week will be a holiday compared to the last few weeks. Even though I have some things that are ruining my chill-vibes, that I will mention soon, most of the week is rather blissful and I’m hoping to get a lot of writing and reading done. So this Commercial Break is hopefully just the start to a very eventful week! Also want to post a few reviews in the upcoming weeks if I get them written – I should get them written, in theory but it’s Monday and I’m already behind with my schedule.
It is time for the most important lists of 2016, the two lists that matter the most: the list of best books and best movies I read and saw last year! And though it’s always hard to put things in a certain perspective, it’s even harder to put them in an order, but I’ve done this for many years and I think I’ve got it! So despite my fears and the slow burning panic that started somewhere in the middle of November, these lists took me less time than I had planned.. which is not to say that they didn’t take more than an hour, because they did but it was all for a good cause!
For the lack of a better word, I am exhausted. Mostly because I worked a pretty long week so I could have an easier second half of the month. But also because I’m constantly thinking how I’m going to send this blog to 2017 and how I will continue with its year 7. The thing is, 7 is my favourite number, and I feel like year 7 for Mettel Ray should be special somehow. The problem is, I have been blogging for six consecutive years and the last couple of years have felt like the blog has been on a standstill. Which is a good thing in a way but I want more, and I think, in the wee hours of last night, I realised what more is, and constructed a game-plan! So, without getting your hopes up too much, stay tuned for 2017, I’m might shake things up…
It’s always difficult to come back after a small break. I took a two week break from blogging, because I was unable to sit down long enough to concentrate on writing. And it felt wrong, yet, I couldn’t push myself through that rut and here we are. Two weeks later, with almost no posts, no lists, no reviews and I’m feeling a little overwhelmed. Trying to catch up with everything before 2017 arrives is going to be a challenge, but I will try my best. So this Commercial Break will be quite short, since I want to get to that long list of other posts as soon as possible!
