Oh the irony of this theme right when traveling is not so fun anymore. I know some people here in Europe are already going to neighbouring countries and further but one boat trip already had somebody traveling with corona so…. Not a fun time to travel but it is fun to think about globetrotting SO here’s what I recommend.
Here it is, the final official post of 2012 that will take this blog into 2013 with a bang. Or, hopefully without an actual bang but you know what I mean. Whilst this post is being prepared, basically a week before this will be read by the eyes of you, I’m already quite thrilled of how 2012 turned out.
And the time has arrived, I’m now finally posting a review on this summer’s most anticipated movies. To give you an idea of my struggles to write this post, just know, that this is the third draft for The Dark Knight Rises. It was and still is difficult to form precise thoughts on Christopher Nolan’s end to the Batman trilogy and possibly the end of the best Batman story ever told. Needless to say, I’ve been thinking about writing this review for weeks and every time I try to analyze the movie I get stuck in this area of vague feelings flouting around. From the moment of walking out of the cinema up until now, I have been certain that I liked the movie rather than loved it but with every draft I keep confusing myself and these vague illusions of “loved it” keep popping into my mind so, even after almost a month of contemplating my feelings about TDKR I still have no idea, if I like it a lot or love it.
In the middle of the hype that is going on around the final installment of Nolan’s Batman which has led to numerous posts about Nolan and his latest movie over the past few days, I can’t help to wonder how this has happened. Every other blogger has done a post about this movie or its director and his work (great reads by all of them) and it is an understatement if I say that this topic has become seemingly popular. Without taking the easy way out and writing a praise for Nolan, I decided to look into the more difficult topic of trying to understand “the hype”.
It seems like forever since The Dark Knight drove into the night and Heath Ledger won an Oscar posthumously but Christopher Nolan is finally back (after inceptioning us) and The Dark Knight Rises. He has added my other favorite Joseph Gordon-Levitt to the mix which for me is kind of weird and awesome at the same time cause he looks so much like Ledger. I think we get a climps of him in the trailer and if yes, then he looks hauntingly good. But what is a Batman movie without Catwoman? – probably nothing because Anne Hatheway is putting on the catsuit. Other than that, Christian Bale returns as Batman and has probably dealt with his problems but I doubt that he wouldn’t have new ones waiting for him. The teaser trailer doesn’t give away much but I’m sure it wouldn’t be anything less than the final episode of Batman’s “life” and Nolan is always at his best when it comes to action so I’m waiting for this one eagerly.[youtube=”http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=apMXFloDH6M”]
PS: Here’s the poster for the third movie and since it is absolutely amazing I saw no reason not to add it to the post.
