I’m back with another Double Feature post and this time I’m diving into Practical Magic and Hocus Pocus. Saw these back to back about a week ago and just had a great evening. I’ve seen them before, more than once. But sometimes it’s good to just return to movies you’ve seen and know what you’re going to get. That’s the joy of Practical Magic and Hocus Pocus – they are my comfort movies.
Another one of those multi-love-story movies that started with Love Actually, continued with He’s Just Not That Into You followed by Katherine Fugate’s Valentine’s Day and now it seems another big holiday that represents love – New Year’s Eve (also Fugate). To be honest, I think these type of movies where so many stories come together and are acted out by the top names in Hollywood are rather awesome. Love Actually of course out of them all is #1 forever (and not just because it’s British but because it is the best) but I find it interesting to see how they keep trying to achieve the same in America.
New Year’s Eve is the next attempt with – now comes the long list of names that I just enjoy reading (underlined are the ones I’m excited to see): Ashton Kutcher, Robert De Niro, Katherine Heigl, Hilary Swank, Josh Duhamel, Sofia Vergara, Jessica Biel, Zac Efron, Abigail Breslin, Alyssa Milano, Michelle Pfeiffer, Sarah Jessica Parker, Halle Berry, Sara Paxton, Sienna Miller, Julie Andrews, John Lithgow, John Stamos, Jon Bon Jovi, Ludacris and etc. So it all comes to this: don’t care about the plots, just want to see the Hollywood movie-stars on the 9th of December!
