Some of you might have noticed that I skipped last week’s post. It was the first in… years that I just didn’t even start a draft for. I don’t know what happened. But I’m back on track this week with another Oscar Winners Edition. This week we’re looking into Best Cinematography and Best Visual Effects. Again I tried to find a theme within a theme as it has become my thing.
PS: The fact that in the entire Academy Award history no female cinematographer has won this category is giving me hives right now. Honestly… complete disbelief.
This week we are back with the Oscar Winners edition for the Thursday Movie Picks series. I am, yet again, running late with the post because I’ve overbooked myself with an article for work. This happens more often than I’d like but that’s just my own fault for not scheduling these Thursday posts. Anyway, as the theme is Best Actor and Best Actress Oscar winners, I’ve decided to do a Thursday first. I’m going to list just two performances, one from each category, that have some meaning to me. You’d think it’s easy but most of my favourite Oscar wins are actually for supporting roles so.. there was some thinking involved.
We are back at it again with Thursday Movie Picks. This is my fifth full year participating this wonderful series created by Wandering Through the Shelves and I don’t plan to stop yet. If you also want to participate you can find the 2021 list of themes here! As you can see from the title there’s an added theme going on in 2021, Oscar Winners. It will be definitely a difficult theme for me to navigate but let’s give it a go, shall we!? First up we have Best Picture winners.
