Years and years ago I compiled an alphabet of my favourite movies, actors and directors. Every letter corresponded with something or someone I liked, loved, admired. Today I’m sitting down to do the same thing… but with television shows. This is an undertaking of the year for me and I’m quite excited.
One of the reasons I wanted to do this is because TV shows have risen to great heights. They are complex, well made, demand a lot of our attention and simply put, television has has surpassed movies in certain extent. Heck, even Oscar winning actors are marching into TV shows and blurring the line between television and the. With no further ado, let’s get into this.
Trying to find the right words for this post seems like an impossible defeat but I’m determined to conquer my inability to form meaningful sentences. The thing is, this post means a lot. The idea behind it was to celebrate an exceptional event, Mettel Ray’s 7th birthday, and the celebration was amazing!
While there might be some things that never change, we as people still constantly evolve just like the world around us. Our thoughts, our tastes, our opinions – with every new grain of information something in us could change completely. We might idolise someone one minute and cringe our noses at their stupidity the next, we might find a movie absolutely brilliant, only to fall out of love with it two years later. And it’s fascinating to see and compare our present to the past, which is why I had this crazy idea to compile My Movie Alphabet Vol 2, almost five years after I posted the first one. To see how I’ve changed… and how much I’ve stayed the same.

To celebrate, I decided to host a grand event, and since sequels are in fashion, what better way to stay relevant than to bring out a sequel of my own: which is why My Movie Alphabet is back!!! Those of you who were here in November 2012 probably remember what this is all about but don’t worry if you have no idea, I’ll fill you in. You see, back in 2012 I wrote a post to celebrate my 400th post, and someone mentioned the word blogathon, and the rest is history (check out this amazing list of participantsandOur Movie Alphabet). Well, I’m digging up history for #MettelRaySe7en because times change, people change, our opinions change, and plus, they keep making good movies! So obviously I have to stay with the times and host My Movie Alphabet Vol 2 blogathon for all you old (not age wise because we are all young at heart) and new readers!
