This theme comes at a right time because I’m now remembering something… I was supposed to upload Part 2 of all the stuff I saw on TV last year. (Part one is here.) My brain has been a mess and I forgot so now there’s going to be three freshmen series here that will be also included in the Part 2. So this is sort of like a sneak peak. Oh by the way, if this sounds rushed, it’s because it is and I’m desperately trying to get this freshmen series post done so I could watch season 3 of Good Girls and cry while they fuck up the story lines. The script has already burned me at this point and I’m currently half way through its third season.
From the depths of my drafts comes a movie review I wrote many months ago.
There was an article about Ocean’s Eight I stumbled on, which gave me a moment of thought. It stated that the lack of conflict, which some critics see as a negative about the film, actually highlights the importance of a female led film. It makes sense and I agree with that point of view… but Ocean’s Eight is still a pretty boring movie.
The lovely Katy over at Girl Meets Cinema is challenging us with something special, something that is pretty much a fundamental part of life – a dream vacation! The challenge is to pick one (or more) movie related locations and at least three travel companions from the film universe. Since my vacation starts on Monday !! I actually had a lot of fun imagining my dream vacation and especially the characters I would bring with!
Dear Mindy Kaling,
I adore you!
I’m interrupting the 2014 In Retrospect to empty my brain, which I should do on a regular basis because my brain doesn’t hold much space for things anymore. This is also a great cover up for the actual, more important problem which is the fact that I’ve yet to put together a 2014 Top 10 Best Movies list because I’m 98,9% certain Birdman needs to be on that list!
When I thought about how my 2014 in Retrospect will eventually turn out, I figured there should be a special post for my favorite people as well. Just as there are many good movies and shows, there are also amazing actors and actresses whom I loved this year the most. Granted, many stood out at the end of the year where the movie brilliance peeked for 2014.
Here are 10 people that stood out for me in 2014 !
We all do it, we all go to book stores and buy a book we’d love to read right away and then months later, there are suddenly dozen books on your night stand waiting for your attention. With work, movies, TV show marathons and everything Internet related, I tend to forget that I actually love reading! So I decided to start this week off with a little dedication post to some of the books I have in my possession that I haven’t had the time to read/finish… yet.
September can’t get here fast enough as I wait for TV’s current most funniest woman, Mindy Kaling to return with her hit series The Mindy Project. For the hardcore fans, it’s going to be all about the relationship between Mindy and Danny in season 3, and for the rest of the viewers, it’s going to be all about the jokes and the laughter, in addition to Mindy and Danny of course.
