It’s been another hot minute but I’m back with an epic Commercial Break! In other words, I’m here to give a quick update on my boring life and list all the things I’ve seen and read. Honestly, it’s been so long (my fault completely) that I will most likely forget like half of what I’ve done. Which, considering the quarantine, isn’t much to begin with. Oh, the irony of life. Plus, while I’m writing this list, it’s like a sauna in my room due to the heatwave and my brain is no work no more. That being said, enjoy this crazy long Commercial Break!
This week I felt like not aiming for a theme within a theme because all three of these are completely different. These are the three competitive reality shows I’ve watched more than a season worth, followed almost religiously at some point and all that I’ve lost interest in at the moment. So, I guess I do have a theme within a theme for this week. Anyway, these competitive reality shows are not even in the same ball park. They are also from three different continents..
Ranking music has always been a great struggle for me (ranking anything is hard to be honest). It still is so don’t expect this list of favourite live performances to be a walk in the park for me. But I wanted to have something different during this 10 days and I figured a music break will fit perfectly! Since songs are so hard for me to rank, I figured live performances of songs I love will be a lot easier to muster. I was of course wrong but hey, at least I tried. Here are 10 of my favourite live performances I’ve seen that blew my mind.
I’m very particular with my music. I tend to listen to mainly the same artists on rotation and it’s only recently that I’ve stuck to certain artists longer than six months. One of those is of course Dermot Kennedy (who I saw live in December and I just cannot express how happy it made me), and the other is Harry Styles. There are others as well of course but those are sort of the two British guys I’ve been listening to a lot. So much so that I have bought their vinyls. Yes, I got both Harry Styles’ albums on vinyl during the corona pandemic. Will be eating grass soon but hey, it was totally worth it!
Well, here we are, back at it with a Commercial Break. I know I promised to make these monthly but I like to fail apparently. This week though, I’m bringing you the first Commercial Break of 2020! It is basically a catch up and a monthly summary of how crazy my February was. I ended up seeing quite a lot, I finished books!, and overall, had a fun time.
Some of my favourite films are directed by Christopher Nolan: Inception, The Dark Knight (mostly because of Ledger) and I also have fond memories of watching Memento as a kid. I even remember being fascinated by Insomnia when I saw it years ago. But then there’s also Interstellar which I didn’t like at all and nothing could make me want to see that movie ever again. So before seeing Dunkirk I was expecting greatness but I also had that nagging worry inside my brain that the last Nolan movie was a space opera I almost fell asleep to. So my emotions were all over the place before the movie. My emotions after the movie were even more scattered, but for entirely different reasons.
Since nothing important has happened in these past few weeks, I again skipped a week and bringing you a recap of the past two weeks. Nothing has happened really, but then again, nothing ever really happens with my life these days. I just work, read, and wait for my still pending operation which means I’ve now officially been waiting for 1,5 months – past the time I was promised to have this operation. Oh, the health care system is so much fun.
I know I know, it’s Sunday and I’m posting a Commercial Break but considering what I have planned for tomorrow, Mettel Ray’s 7th birthday, I wanted to get my weekly thoughts out before that happens. And yes, there is something fun coming up for May, and I will try to get all the posts done and scheduled some time next weekend. I’ve got a lot of planned but due to my hectic past two weeks, I’ve not been able to actually execute these plans. Thank god I was wise enough to plan the posts for next week in advance, because I would have been extremely disappointed if I had missed tomorrow’s post because of my work. Anyway, enough of me rambling on, here are some of the things that have happened over these two weeks.
