Can’t believe it’s already June!? I feel like I haven’t accomplished anything this year and most of it is already over. Anyway, at least I have been keeping up with my Thursday posts which are back with the Oscar Winners Edition special. This week we are looking into Best Original Screenplay and Best Adapted Screenplays. Now you know me, I like to pick a theme within the theme, so I right away wanted to pick one of them as the main focus. Also it’s getting a little late here so I won’t be saying much about the movies this week.
During the announcement for the 90th Academy Award nominees, I was luckily preoccupied with a few work things, and wasn’t paying attention. Good thing too, because the wait, the anticipation and the nerves would have been torture. And the pressure to seek out one particular nomination was also lifted, because right when I logged onto Twitter, I saw what I most wanted to see.
Well this is an interesting week because I put down all the movies that fit the theme and realised I accidentally had a theme within a theme. It’s nothing special but I think it’s funny how all my movies this week begin with the letter “G”. Oh, and to make it even more special, my actual name starts with a letter “G” as well!
It has come to my attention that the year 2017 has almost hit its mid-point and with that in mind, I figured I’d recap what has happened movie wise this year so far. This post is inspired by the popular Mid-Year Book Freak Out tag that I’ve seen around in the book community but since I’m still all about being a movie blogger at heart, I decided to turn it into a Midyear Movie Madness instead. So this is a post that will recap the last 6 months of 2017 in terms of movies, and to make things more interesting, I’m only sticking to movies I saw in the theater!
There are a few spoilers ahead, you’ve been warned.
Sometimes I sit behind my computer knowing I have to type up a post and spend a lot of time doing everything but writing. I feel like today has been one of those days but since this upcoming week will be mental, I know I have to get everything drafted and scheduled. It’s Saturday evening, I just finished watching Someone Like You… and I’m wondering where I should begin.
