It’s been another hot minute since the last Commercial Break. I’ve been somewhat off-center with my time management lately and kept pushing writing into tomorrow’s duties. Now it’s been three weeks, most of January is gone and it feels like I’m rusty again. No worries though, it was all part of a plan. Because Commercial Break will from now be a monthly feature. Why? Well, let me explain…
Before you do a double take and arch your eyebrows, yes, I haven’t really been posting Fictional Fridays. Blame my inability to plan three regular posts a week, blame my laziness, whatever works. The reason I’m bringing this feature back, is so I can share books I bought with me on my holiday.
Here we go, I’m sharing my first attempt to stick to an actual TBR that I’ve decided on beforehand. It’s not something I’ve ever been good at, setting a specific reading goal for a month but it’s a new year and a new me! I hope I get to the end of the month with a smile on my face, and I hope I won’t be disappointing myself by not following through these TBR’s. But with no further ado, here’s my TBR pile for the month of January!
Another good week for me because of course I’m going to mention 3 books I want to see as movies in this list, and I hope someday I will get my wish. At first I thought of so many books that are already going to be adaptations for this list but I figured that’s not fun and decided to share three books that I think would translate well on screen. And then hopefully someday, they will be.
When I started reading more a few years ago, I didn’t know I had any specific tastes for books. I might have known deep down but I didn’t, and couldn’t, actually acknowledge it before I had read a few books, you know!? So I kept reading and I’m still reading and part of me knows that I do have things that I gravitate towards. May it be genre related, may it be plot-point related, or a word-of-mouth situation – I now have these things that instantly make me pick up that specific book. I’m hereby sharing all of my instantly want to read situations.
This is going to be such a random post but hey, isn’t that what blogging is all about – being random! So here I go, with my Pokémon Go Book Tag created by Read At Midnight, which I wasn’t tagged in, but found it on Big City Bookwork, and just wanted to participate anyway. By the way, I don’t play Pokémon Go either – so this is as random as it can get!
In June I was a good reader. Not only did I pick up a book that has been in my TBR for a while, but I also picked up a great sequel that has turned a certain series into an all time favorite.
As you can probably tell by the title, I’m hereby sharing some of my thoughts about books I’ve read this year, books I plan to read and other book related things that have popped into my head.
I slowed things down for May, because I was ahead with my reading challenge and because I wanted to challenge myself with a big book this month. Therefore I ended up reading four books, and listened, for the first time, an audio book. All in all, considering one of the books was over 1000 pages, I had a good reading month once again!
