Thursday Movie Picks 2020

Thursday Movie Picks: Bookish Movies

Despite this weeks theme being probably one of my favourites, I felt especially uninspired. For some reason I couldn’t think of three bookish movies that I like. There are definitely more but I feel like I would need to go more scene by scene for that to happen. Many characters being bookish, reading books and just having a bookish demeanour. But in a movie that’s not necessarily bookish itself. Anyway I did end up with three, one of which is mediocre in my eyes.

Top 10 Books That I Liked A Bit More As Movies

I’m starting this week off by bringing you ten book to movie adaptations that I thought worked wonderfully. All these books are okay, some are actually very good, but others simply aren’t as strong. The point of the Top 10 list is that the movies were better than books. Yes, I love some adaptations a bit more than the books and that is rare. By the way, I’ve been reading less books lately, so if you have any recommendations to me (to get out of the reading slump) feel free to leave those in the comments!

CB: Once Upon a Time In June

Way back in February, when I had a lot of time on my hands, I wrapped up January like a champ. Then, I sort of forgot about it and now I’m bringing the wrap up back. In other words, I’m wrapping up the entire month of June – from movies to shows to books to songs! With a bit of commentary on each of the things I saw, read and listened, and links to possible reviews and such. So take a look at everything I experienced in June, and apparently, there was a lot!

Reading Wrap Up: July

Well another month has passed and I’m still on track with my reading challenge. It may seem like a weird thing to say, considering I had a month off from work this past July, but it was a surprise to me. Partly because I didn’t feel like reading at the beginning of summer, and then I decided to pick up a massive book. Luckily, everything worked out well, and I actually managed to finish four books, and start the fifth before the month ended.

Reading Wrap Up: June

Well, it was a matter of time before the inevitable reading slump got to me and it turns out June was that time of the year. Hopefully I manage to turn things around for July, even though the first book I picked up for July is a honker of a thousand plus pages (1376 pages to be exact), which I hope to finish soon. But who cares about July when I haven’t even talked about June yet, so here we go.

Reading Wrap Up: May

Images taken from my personal bookstagram account

Here we are, almost at the midpoint of 2017, and I’m enjoying reading just as much as I did at the beginning of the year. Not to jinx it, but I’ve successfully avoided reading slumps and I’m ahead of my challenge which means I can now pick up heavier books. That being said, I do love an occasional adult romance novel these days, so there will be few of them mentioned here and in the future. Also, for this month I wanted to shake things up a bit and I added visuals to my post. It took me ages! Like, honestly, it took me less time to actually write the reviews than to pick the images to accompany each book! That being said, here is my newly refreshed reading wrap up of all the books I read in May.

Another month has come and gone and I’ve kept up with my reading quite well! The second half of the month took a slow turn for me and then I got stuck on rereading A Court of Thorns and Roses. But I’ll finish it today and continue on with the second book while I’m dreaming of the moment A Court of Wings and Ruin finds its way to my hands. Anyway, slow second half of the month aside, I managed to be super good with reading at the beginning of April, so I still I have seven books to mention.

Reading Wrap Up: January & February

img_3435-2Well, 2017 has gotten the best of me. Just two months into the year and I’ve already fallen behind with my reading wrap ups. BUT, I do have a legitimate reason for this little combined wrap up .. I wanted to revamp these posts but realised I didn’t have the time to do so, and by the time I realised I should have posted my January reading wrap up, it was mid-February and it made more sense to combine these first two months. Also, heads up, it’s heavy with adult romance novels because I’ve had a rough couple of months and easy, breezy and sexy was all I wanted to read.
