The always awesome and funny m.Brown over at Two Dollar Cinema is hosting Mt. Rushmore of Movies Blogathon again! And this year, just like last year, I’m sticking to things I know and appreciate the most in this precious world – beards. So here are four Sam Rockwell performances, where he sports a great, and most importantly, a sexy beard!
Nostra from My Filmviewsis bringing the holiday spirit this year and has created a Best Christmas Movie List relay. I get to be a part of it thanks to Katy, from Oh So Geeky, who gracefully handed the task to me! Find out which movie I decided to add to the list!
Another year, another Against the Crowd Blogathon hosted by Dell on Movies(and co-hosted by KG’s Movie Rants) and there’s not chance I’m going to miss this one! Last year was a close call, I discovered it almost at the last minute but still made the deadline. This year, I’m more prepared and I even asked if it was happening before they announced it! Yes, I was that eager to participate! For those who are new here, Against the Crowd is a special blogathon for me because it’s the one I’ve participated every year since it started – I am that dedicated for it! So let’s get going, first the rules and then the two picks I decided to either argue against or defend for!
To celebrate, I decided to host a grand event, and since sequels are in fashion, what better way to stay relevant than to bring out a sequel of my own: which is why My Movie Alphabet is back!!! Those of you who were here in November 2012 probably remember what this is all about but don’t worry if you have no idea, I’ll fill you in. You see, back in 2012 I wrote a post to celebrate my 400th post, and someone mentioned the word blogathon, and the rest is history (check out this amazing list of participantsandOur Movie Alphabet). Well, I’m digging up history for #MettelRaySe7en because times change, people change, our opinions change, and plus, they keep making good movies! So obviously I have to stay with the times and host My Movie Alphabet Vol 2 blogathon for all you old (not age wise because we are all young at heart) and new readers!
It has been… well let’s just say it has been a long time since I last participated in a blogathon and I think it’s time to do one. More specifically, it’s time for Two Dollar Cinema’sMt. Rushmore of Movies Blogathon! Here you have to choose top four anything cinematic, from 4 favourite villains to your top 4 childhood television shows, the possibilities are endless! And with such grand freedom, of course I had to carve four epic beards into my Mt. Rushmore of Movies.
Another year, another opportuinity to participate in the Against the Crowd Blogathon – something that has become sort of a tradition here on Mettel Ray AND I almost missed it this year! But as luck would have it, I didn’t actually miss the deadline that’s on the 26th of August, so I got enough time to gather my thoughts to express two movie opinions that go against the masses.
Last year, on July 15th I participated in this very same blogathon and I enjoyed it a lot.. so why not return a year and a month later to do the same. Dell on Movies returns to his great idea and asks us to go against the masses and hate something everyone loves and vice versa. So, obviously since I love to hate things, I’m taking this year’s Against the Crowd Blogathon extremely seriously!
The lovely Katy over at Girl Meets Cinema is challenging us with something special, something that is pretty much a fundamental part of life – a dream vacation! The challenge is to pick one (or more) movie related locations and at least three travel companions from the film universe. Since my vacation starts on Monday !! I actually had a lot of fun imagining my dream vacation and especially the characters I would bring with!
This is my 700th post and what better way to celebrate yet another milestone than to look back and realize how much you’ve grown over the years. When I started, I was pretty much a rookie at everything, including expressing my thoughts and now, after writing hundreds of posts, I can say I’ve reached a place in my life where I can honestly say I’m proud of my ability to write coherent and meaningful paragraphs. So to give myself a little pat on the back, I’m going to share my favorite posts I’ve written among all the 700 here on Mettel Ray.
Since it has been almost 1,5 years since I held my last blog event, I figured the 5th anniversary of Mettel Ray would be a great occasion to announce my Movie Roulette Blogathon! And since my last ones have required quite a lot of thinking and let’s be honest, work, I thought I’d simplify things by making Movie Roulette all about having some fun!
