Film scores have such an important part in creating a mood and elevating the images on screen. Unfortunately I’m a very lousy movie lover when it comes to scores and I definitely don’t pay enough attention. Mostly because I’m more of a visual person than auditory. There are, despite my lack of awareness towards scores, a few that have stood out. These are three film scores that I have listened to from start to finish… more than once.
Will A Quiet Place do the same for horror in 2018, that Get Out did to horror in 2017? Some say yes, other say no. For me, by adding layers upon layers to a genre that I have stayed away from, both movies have changed my perspective on horror films and what that this genre could really do.
Just when I thought I was out of the hole, I get dragged back into the dark pit of fangirling. In other words, while trying to get everything ready before the deadlines dropped, the girls on Twitter kindly shoved Chris Evans into my face. The end is near with 2017 Thursday Movie Picks but have no fear, I will continue on in 2018 – there’s no doubt in that! There’s still one post left in the Television Edition next week, but this post marks the end for movie picks, so I thought I’d pick five instead of three to make it extra special. By the way, I’ve left out ALL the superhero movies because frankly, there are so many and I already know I’m going to watch them so, what’s the point in sharing them.
Even though I felt like crap at the end of last week, tired and stressed out, I still had a pretty successful week. I managed to watch a few movies, got further with Crazy-Ex Girlfriend, and by some miracle, and borrowing greatly from sleep, I finished three books! This week is hopefully going to be no different, except maybe more sleep and less stress.
