For obvious reasons, the concept of underground makes me think of horror/thriller genre. There is just no way, for instance, a romantic story could or should happen below the ground. That is why, all my picks are a little scary.
It is time for the most important lists of 2016, the two lists that matter the most: the list of best books and best movies I read and saw last year! And though it’s always hard to put things in a certain perspective, it’s even harder to put them in an order, but I’ve done this for many years and I think I’ve got it! So despite my fears and the slow burning panic that started somewhere in the middle of November, these lists took me less time than I had planned.. which is not to say that they didn’t take more than an hour, because they did but it was all for a good cause!
If you end up in an underground bunker after a car accident and the guy holding you down there tells you that a chemical attack has killed everyone above the ground, you should believe him but you should also not trust him. Spaced between various genres, 10 Cloverfield Lane is a thrilling experience from start to finish, with surprises lurking around every corner, with brilliant performances by everyone in this minuscule cast.
I’m currently in Brussels, visiting a friend and enjoying my first holiday of 2016. With the tragedy that took place almost a month ago in Brussels still fresh on my mind, and my flight schedule being changed twice, I finally arrived and everything’s fine! But despite my hiatus from my computer for almost a week, I’ve still got posts scheduled to publish (including this one), and I’ll be back before you know it!
