I was actually purposely searching for a good questionnaire to answer because I was, lets face it, bored out of my mind! Seriously, I was basically doing nothing and I thought, why not find 24 questions (well I wasn’t thinking of a certain number but that’s what I ended up with) and answer them. I think it is quite a good one compared to some of the other ones I saw. Feel free to answer these questions yourself and let me know in the comments in case you’ve done it. I thought long and hard over these answers in order to make them as correct as possible and I was surprised by some of the things I remembered but mostly, just a decent insight into my movie world.
1: Name a movie that you have seen more than 10 times.
I mean, who’s actually counting but I guess Star Trek, Avatar, Holiday, She’s the Man (don’t judge me, I worked in a video store and it was the only thing I was in the mood for most of the days I was stuck there), Ocean 11, Pride and Prejudice, Love Actually and definitely some of the 90’s best bits. I would think that I have seen Home Alone over ten times as well as the Sandra Bullock’s While You Were Sleeping. Some of the “might seen 10 times” are Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, The Pirates of Caribbean 1 and Snatch but I really haven’t been counting.
2: Name a movie that you’ve seen multiple times in the theater.
None. Sadly, my experiences in the theater have stayed in the “only once” category.
3: Name an actor that would make you more inclined to see a movie.
Lets go with the actor that would incline me to see a movie AT THE MOMENT (cause other wise it would be such a difficult question) – Ryan Gosling, Michael Fassbender and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Actress would possibly be Emma Stone.
4: Name an actor that would make you less likely to see a movie.
Russell Brand, Jack Black and representing the ladies in this category would be Kristen Stewart.
5: Name a movie that you can and do quote from.
I do quote a lot from movies, to make myself sound cool and awesome by stealing the jokes from characters but I mostly go for the famous ones from Forrest Gump: “Run, Forrest, run!” and “Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re gonna get!”.
6: Name a movie musical that you know all of the lyrics to all of the songs.
A musical called “I don’t know the songs to any movie musicals by heart” because I have a pretty bad memory for songs and I don’t watch musicals that much to remember even the titles of the songs.
7: Name a movie that you have been known to sing along with.
I am a bad singer, so there is no movie I’ve done such thing with (TV-shows would be different because the theme song of The O.C is still ringing in my ear).
8: Name a movie that you would recommend everyone see.
Any of the Tarantino or Ritchie or Nolan or Burton movies. As a general rule, movies which are written and directed by the same person.. preferably a genius like these four.
9: Name a movie that you own.
“A movie” ? I’ll just say that I own a collection of Heath Ledger movies among my entire collection. But I think it is unfair to mention just one, it is like having one favorite movie – impossible! Why? Because I love different movies at different times, depending on my mood so.. stupid question.
10: Name an actor that launched his/her entertainment career in another medium but who has surprised you with his/her acting chops.
Oh, I’m going to go with Ryan Gosling. And everybody is going to be like, but he’s an actor but no! He started in the Mickey Mouse club together with Timberlake so technically he began as a singer. And he has surprised me so many times! (I know I cheated a bit but I just couldn’t think of any other surprise besides Marky Mark and I really didn’t want to give him much credit.)
11: Have you ever seen a movie in a drive-in? If so, what?
Sadly no, because in Estonia, we don’t have those. But oh I wish we did, I’d see so many action movies and superhero movies..
12: Ever made out in a movie?
These questions are starting to cause depression – no, I haven’t. I have gone to the movies alone a lot, oh, about 10 times at least (during the past year).
13: Name a movie that you keep meaning to see but just haven’t yet gotten around to it.
The Avengers! It is like the first one that pops into my head. But, I’m gonna loose so much street-cred for this one, I also would like to finish watching the Godfather.
14: Ever walked out of a movie?
No. But I really thought about it while watching The Darkest Hour, a walk-in movie experience (just went to see a movie and it was the only one I could see during that time I had), I just want to forget it forever.
15: Name a movie that made you cry in the theater.
The last one that made me cry was One Day.
16: Popcorn?
Actually, at the cinema, no. I prefer sweets because popcorn makes me too thirsty and then I want to drink and then I have to go to the bathroom. But at home, yes to the popcorn!
17: How often do you go to the movies (as opposed to renting them or watching them at home)?
Not that often anymore, due to the fact that the cinema has been either way too far (and difficult to reach) or lacking in my home town. A year ago, I went 3-4 times a month at least but now I watch mostly at home.
18: What’s the last movie you saw in the theater?
American Pie: The Reunion – and actually the first time over a long time I didn’t go alone to the movies, so it altered my future and the answer to this question. Other wise, I actually wouldn’t have chosen it in the first place and this would say The Hunger Games instead.
19: What’s your favorite/preferred genre of movie?
Action if the adventure and thriller and sci-fi go together with it. So basically superhero movies and geeky Star Trek type of things are just enjoyable any day of the week.
20: What’s the first movie you remember seeing in the theater?
Oh my, I actually remember that I saw 101 Dalmatians with my grandma in the theater a year before I saw Titanic with my mom and dad. It would sound more profound to have Titanic as an answer (“My love for movies was immensely heightened when I went to the movies for the first time and saw Titanic,” she says with a posh voice) but I would never trade my dalmatian experience with granny to the one that my heart is supposed to go on with.
21: What movie do you wish you had never seen?
As I mentioned earlier, I would erase The Darkest Hour from my memories and maybe together with it Borat’s naked wrestling scene.
22: What is the weirdest movie you enjoyed?
I actually had to ask Google to help me and as it turns out, there is a site called 366 weird movies and it reminded me of a movie that I thought was very very weird but I kind of liked. Scott Pilgrim vs The World, prefect example of weird but awesome.
23: What is the scariest movie you’ve seen?
I haven’t watched scary movies, like.. at all. I am not a fan, I do not think they are for me and probably because I was traumatized as a kid by Jim Carrey. Don’t ask. I did watch Grudge and thought it was the scariest ever because it is possibly the only scary movie I’ve watched-watched (meaning I had no pillow to hide behind).
24: What is the funniest movie you’ve seen?
I’m gonna give my inner child this one and say Finding Nemo, and possibly the first Shrek is the close second. I think they are funny and hilarious because they are fun-humor instead of offensive-humor which is only funny once (Brides Maids scene where they all get food poisoning – how is that funny more than once if I actually didn’t like it that much the first time around?). Animations are funny many times because they are for kids, and child-like-adults like myself and actually cute and cuddly so you can watch them many many many times and I can quote them both which means I’ve seen them enough to remember the jokes. Go, animated movies that make me laugh every time! *fakes a victory jump*
