IMG_4164This week is filled with horrid events such as becoming older and two days later, realizing I’m still single as fuck. So to add to my ever so fragile emotional state of mind, I decided to compile a list of my favorite relationships from movies, TV-shows and books I’ve recently seen, read and loved.

PS: Thank you all for the lovely birthday wishes!

BOOKS

FEYRE & TAMLIN:  A Court of Thorns and Roses, 2015

This book is a retelling of the Beauty and the Beast with Tamlin being the beast, who has to live with a weird curse. But the weird curse aside, the relationship between Feyre and Tamlin is interesting and thrilling, mostly because Feyre hates him at first and then slowly realizes that she doesn’t.

LARA JEAN & PETER: To All the Boys I Ever Loved, 2014

Contemporary love stories are sometimes a bit dull but not To All the Boys I Ever Loved where Lara Jean and Peter decide to fake a relationship. It sounds unbelievable but it makes sense in the story, and this is a story I’ve already read twice now, so I’m definitely loving this pairing.

CLAIRE & JAMIE: Outlander, 2005

Finally, my biggest obsession, and the one that kept me warm for almost two weeks – Claire and Jamie! Their relationship is probably the most complicated out of the nine I’ve selected to mention in this whole post, but it’s also the most passionate and the sexiest. If you haven’t read the book(s), I recommend the series, because it’s almost as good as the book. Plus: Sam Heughan…….

TV-SHOWS

LESLIE & BEN: Parks and Recreation, 2009-2015

Being a fan of Parks and Recreation is a new thing for me since I binge watched the whole series for the first time just last year, but I’m pretty sure I loved Leslie and Ben long before. Seeing their gifs on Tumblr left a mark, and finally seeing it all develop on screen was just a cherry on top – definitely one of the sweetest on-screen relationships I’ve encountered.

WOLFGANG & KALA: Sense8, 2015-

This is a relationship that hasn’t had enough time to develop but since Sense8 has gotten a second season, I’m willing to bet there’s so much more to come. Living in different countries, Wolfgang and Kala only see each-other in their minds which makes their relationship even more thrilling. Though Sense8 has many OTPs I could have picked, Wolfgang and Kala made the cut because they are by far my favorite!

HALEY & ANDY: Modern Family, 2009-

This is such a great pairing that I’m a bit sad that Andy’s presence in the series is so little compared to the rest of the cast. Haley and Andy got together couple of episodes ago but so far, he has been absent and I miss them together. The void is so strong that I feel less happy watching Modern Family when Andy’s not there.

MOVIES

SUSAN & RICK: Spy, 2015

After re-watching Spy the other day, I was surprised how much more I enjoyed Susan and Rick on screen. The first time around I wasn’t expecting it, so I wasn’t aware I was watching a romantic relationship between them two but turns out, the chemistry was there all along.

EILIS & TONY: Brooklyn, 2015

This is not a surprising pick because Brooklyn was one of the few romantic movies I loved last year. Eilis and Tony made such a cute pair, and while being not the most typical on-screen couple, they were the most special among all the movie couples I saw last year.

ILLYA & GABY: Man From U.N.C.L.E, 2015

Another surprise from last year was Man From U.N.C.L.E which delivered a pairing I wasn’t expecting to love as much as I do – Illya and Gaby. Their dislike for each other was evident yet clouded by sexual tension which built up so well that I was a little disappointed they never even kissed on screen. All that tension and no payoff … I really wish there’s a sequel coming in our way because I need to see the action people, I need it!
