“For now, I’m just going to keep doing the work and hope I don’t get fired. If people want to put me up on their walls, I’ll love it.”

Ryan Thomas Gosling

12. November 1980

One Oscar nomination, 3 Golden Globe nominations

This man is perfection in so many ways. He not only rocks my boat in movies but he has done several awesome things in real life – stopped a fight between two people, saved a woman from getting hit by a taxi and I’m sure he has done several other good deeds. Plus, he looks so damn fine when ever he goes for grocery shopping or something. Though I have seen so many of his movies there are still couple of great films I haven’t yet watched – shame on me big time. Still, everybody should know his name and the fact that the guy can sing!

Favorite movies:

Drive, Blue Valentine, Crazy Stupid Love, The Notebook, Fracture

Notable performances:

Remember the Titans, Murder by Numbers

Haven’t seen yet (shame on me):

The Idles of March, All Good Things, Half Nelson, Lars and the Real Girl

As a proof of his very good singing skills, he was in the Mickey Mouse Club by the way, you could check out his song Youtube which happens to be one of my favorites. On an unrelated note, kind of, I like my men who can act and sing because Depp, Gosling and Gordon-Levitt are my top 3 and they all can hold a tune. Got to love men who can sing you a serenade while I can’t even hold a tune.

Since he looks so good, I’m really trying to keep my cool but I just can’t hold it together, I’ll add more images of him here just for the eye candy thing. There isn’t much eye candy on my blog so this should balance out the long reviews. Hopefully my female readers are thrilled with this feature and suggestions for Love Me Some are welcome as well. Though the long list of names I have in front of me can last me a long long time.

  • I’m putting together a new blogathon. It’s called “Winning Streak” and the idea is that you write about what you consider to be the most impressive unbroken run of great movies from a chosen film-maker. So for example mine would be Robert Altman’s run from Brewster McCloud (1970) to Nashville (1975) where in my opinion he made seven fantastic movies.
Let me know if you fancy taking part.

    • I would love to but I don’t think I’ll have the time especially since I’m moving. And besides, my film-maker would definitely be from the current time… if I decide to do it. I’ll think about it. (:

  • Oh you’re going to love Ides of March and Lars and the Real Girl. His work in Ides impressed me even more than what he did in Drive, but his best performance remains Blue Valentine, even though I’m not a big fan of this movie.

    • Ha. I loved Blue Valentine because it really showed my the complexity of love.. I don’t know. But I’m looking forward to see those two movies. I’m probably gonna watch them in September though.. I feel like Ides of March is a September movie.
