There are actresses who build themselves, and then there are actresses who are built by others. I want to build myself.
Jennifer Lawrence
15. August 1990
An Oscar winner and a Golden Globe winner
When you start to think about it, Jennifer Lawrence has not been around for long. She appeared quickly, almost as out of the blue and became one of the best among the young Hollywood. Her appeal to me has a lot to do with her off-screen personality, the way she constantly makes me smile and laugh, in addition to her healthy body image. And though I haven’t seen many of her movies, quite a few compared to her list on IMDb, I’m pretty sure I love her. No, not pretty sure, very sure! And I do admit that though I recognize the talent, as did Hollywood by giving her an Oscar, I have a much more personal agenda when it comes to liking her. I just like her personality and the way she presents herself in interviews. Here’s hoping that her free spirit won’t be crushed by the politics and criticism, the press and the haters – fingers crossed!
Favorite performance:
Silver Linings Playbook
Notable performances:
The Hunger Games, X-Men: First Class
Haven’t seen yet (shame on me):
Winter’s Bone, Like Crazy
Waiting for:
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, X-Men: Days of Future Past, Serena
And despite the fact that she makes mistakes, like wearing a dress that trips her on the stairs or has roles in movies I don’t plan to watch ever (The Beaver), I will most likely keep my eye on her for a long time. There’s just something about her, down to earth and sweet, plus, I’m really proud she made it through the award season with a candid smile!

February 28, 2013 at 1:23 PMShe’s definitely Hollywood’s golden girl right now and for good reason. She’s a talented actress and seems genuinely down to earth as well. Oh and she’s drop dead gorgeous, too 🙂

February 28, 2013 at 1:25 PMIndeed! But she hasn’t been in many movies! I mean, I’ve seen three! I’m pretty sure Winter’s Bone will be a favorite but I’m yet to see it.
No doubt about her personality and looks, though! Girl-crushing on a higher level! 😀

February 28, 2013 at 5:55 PMShe’s very talented! I liked her little role in Like Crazy, but I thought Winter’s Bone was terribly boring. I look forward to more of her films.

February 28, 2013 at 6:21 PMInteresting. Haven’t seen Winter’s Bone yet but I’m definitely going to give it a try. I doubt it’s going to be as boring as Les Misérables.

February 28, 2013 at 8:34 PMI immediately fell in love with her when I first saw her at one of the award ceremonies in that gorgeous red dress (see here: http://bit.ly/w3jXoV). I remember thinking ‘who is THAT?’ I had never heard of Winters Bone, nor had I heard of Lawrence at the time. But I know her now!

February 28, 2013 at 9:03 PMI think EVERYBODY knows her now and I’m so glad! She’s awesome! I also liked her in The Hunger Games but I think my addiction to that movie is to do with the fact that I read the books and am really into that dystopia type of thing when it comes to literature.

March 1, 2013 at 11:33 AMDefinitely see Silver Linings Playbook when you get the chance! Lawrence is brilliant and I even went from Bradley Cooper hater to his lover with that performance alone!
