First of all, yes, I’ve discovered Kpop. Second of all, yes I’m very new to this and currently sticking to one group only. That group being iKON! A group of six members (previously 7) that I discovered through Bobby, one of their members, who released his second studio album Lucky Man in January. On that is a song called U MAD that I randomly stumbled onto in mid March (thank you, Youtube). So long story short, I’m now a fan of iKON and I already spent the entire April listening to their albums. Therefore I figured I’d share seven iKON songs I’m obsessed with at the moment.
Though I’ve been in a strange mood these past few months where nothing seems to entertain me, music has had its moments. A few songs here and there have made it to my playlist and some I’ve played in a constant loop. Since I don’t want this blog to become a solely Thursday-upload blog, I thought why not make a different list post. And since the last time I shared anything music related was last June I figured it was about that time again. Here is a list of seven songs that I’ve obsessed over in these past few months.
Thanks to Disney I finally got to see Hamilton. Living in Europe sometimes has its perks but it also means missing out on Broadway. Though I’m not a huge fan of musicals, in recent years, Hamilton caught my attention and I really wanted to see it. Over the years I heard some songs but out of context, without the stage, the actors and the actual musical numbers, the songs didn’t really have meaning. Now after seeing Hamilton with my own two eyes (twice already) I finally understand the hype. Here are my five favourite songs from Hamilton.
I’m very particular with my music. I tend to listen to mainly the same artists on rotation and it’s only recently that I’ve stuck to certain artists longer than six months. One of those is of course Dermot Kennedy (who I saw live in December and I just cannot express how happy it made me), and the other is Harry Styles. There are others as well of course but those are sort of the two British guys I’ve been listening to a lot. So much so that I have bought their vinyls. Yes, I got both Harry Styles’ albums on vinyl during the corona pandemic. Will be eating grass soon but hey, it was totally worth it!
Recently I discovered that I have been enjoying quite a lot of theme songs. Like, enjoying to a point where I don’t even fast forward the opening credits because I want to hear the song. So I wanted to share them with you guys. Which, ironically, makes this week very music oriented with Thursday Movie Picks focusing on unforgettable film scores. Anyway, here are five TV-show theme songs I’ve recently enjoyed and loved!
Margaret over at Cinematic Corner does Soundtrack Wednesday posts and I really like those. I’m not planning to make this into a habit but I figured that I have to do this at least once. Especially since there’s probably not many of you who are going to watch Truth and Justice and you would end up missing out on its soundtrack. Which would be a real shame!
Let’s make this month special and unique all on its own. Here is my third post for my blog’s music category, I posted the last one in January of 2016. So yes, it seems like I’ve neglected it but now I’m trying to revive this category a little. For instance, today I’m sharing you my five current favourite Dermot Kennedy songs.
At the end of 2015, I promised more variety on my blog and then somehow things mostly stayed the same. So here goes nothing, a new year, a new beginning and a list of 10 songs of 2015 that on some point were, for me, on constant repeat .
On October 26th, Drake released a music video for Hotline Bling and the Internet almost broke. It didn’t break entirely, because Kim Kardashian already broke it a while ago and well, I don’t think we ever fully fixed it. Or did we? Anyway, people were endlessly commenting on Drake’s video, people were making memes left and right, and parodies appeared all over the place. And I’m sitting here and thinking, why all the hate for Drake’s moves!?
