Having such a dejá vu moment with this week’s Thursday Movie Picks theme. The reason, back in December our Across the Universe Podcast topic was exactly the same – movies about movies. So I’m going to cheat a little and post the same list again. If you want to hear more of my thoughts, and find out what other’s picked, feel free to listen to the podcast.
For obvious reasons, the concept of underground makes me think of horror/thriller genre. There is just no way, for instance, a romantic story could or should happen below the ground. That is why, all my picks are a little scary.
Is it me, or does this week’s theme feel like a deja vu? When last week we touched upon our childhood favourites, this Thursday Movie Picks is all about nostalgia. For me, these two are very similar but I am going to spin this week’s theme to my favour. Here are three movies, featuring young people as leads, that make me feel nostalgic about my own youth!
Childhood. The time of carefree days spent indoors, outdoors, sometimes in school, sometimes ditching school. I mean those were the good times! And what did I do? I watched a lot of movies. Most importantly, I watched a lot of movies! Here are three of my childhood favourites, in no particular order!
For this week’s Thursday Movie Picks the recommendations came easy. I sat down, and just typed the first three movies that came to mind. All three are also a lot shorter than just one day. One plot is 2 hours, the other is a single night, the third takes place during business hours. So, can you guess what my picks are?
The Oscars are so close that I could smell the excitement. And this Thursday is all about movies that were snubbed for their rightful Oscar statue. Here are three of the ones that came to mind first.
It was about time my eagerness to post themes within themes bit me in the ass, because now I’m in trouble. You see, last year we had a workplace theme for the Television Edition, and I picked law firms. But now I have to recommend three legal dramas, and since I don’t like to repeat myself, things are going to get difficult. Take a look how I pretty much struggle through this one.
