best picks for the holidayThis is not really meant as a blogathon but feel free to share your best picks too!

The time of snuggling, blankets and hot beverages is upon us and there’s that thing called Christmas around the corner as well. For the lazy days, or in my case, a full-on lazy week, I have put together my best picks for some downtime choices for this holiday season.

BEST  PICK  FOR  ATMOSPHERE:  CANDLES  &  LOTS  OF  THEMcandle

You would think the best pick would be fairy lights but candles do the job well enough too! Plus, if you are lucky enough, you get one with an enjoyable scent and fancy packaging.

BEST  PICK  FOR OUTFIT:  WOOL  SOCKSwool socks

Forget those cardigans and sweatshirts, for me, there is nothing better than slipping on those handmade wool socks that keep my feet warm and cozy for those cold winter evening.

BEST  PICK  FOR BEVERAGE:  COFFEEcoffee

Instead of hot chocolate and tea parties, I have been having coffee parties since I can remember. The holiday season is no different.. maybe just a drop of extra something grown up in the coffee.

BEST  PICK  FOR FOOD:  ICE  CREAMice cream

An odd choice for a winter season but hey, I’m an odd person who can never have enough of ice cream. Also, it goes well with the cake I’ll attempt to make with my lack of baking skills.

BEST  PICK  FOR READING:  HARRY  POTTERharry potter

I won’t devour the Potter series this year but it’s still the most enjoyable re-read series I know. Also, they keep bringing out new editions and this particular one is many levels of awesome!

BEST  PICK  FOR  A  TV  SHOW:  GILMORE  GIRLSgilmore girls

Friends would be my best pick for the most part but I woke up one morning and felt like it was Gilmore Girls time to shine. Also, it helps that Milo and Matt are in there for some eye candy.

BEST  PICK  FOR  A  MOVIE:  OCEAN’S  TRILOGYocean's 11

Keeping the best picks a bit less traditional I’ve decided to choose a non-holiday themed franchise that is filled with great performances and men who I still adore.

That’s what I have planned for this holiday season, all cozy and snuggled in blankets and wool socks watching Gilmore Girls and the Ocean’s trilogy. Now, the only problem I have at the moment is the lack of snow outside because two black Christmas in a row is unacceptable.

  • Very cool post. I am confused about one thing, though. Couldn’t you wear cardigans or sweat shirts with your wool socks? Unless the socks are the “whole” outfit…just never mind. Enjoy lazy week.

  • Gilmore Girls is awesome, except for that last season. I love that Xmas episode in the first season while the one in the 7th was OK only because there was that great scene of Lorelai and Rory bumping into Luke and April where Rory shared some great stories about Luke always giving her presents and remembering her birthdays. Seeing those 4 together seems more like the ideal family rather than Lorelai with ass-hat.

    • Seventh season was when the original show writer and creator had been kicked out.. I read about it and realized that the final season has always been my least favorite but then again, I’m not the biggest fan of the sixth one either..

      • The first half of the sixth season was fine but something happened in the last 3/4s of the season which I didn’t like as it featured some of the worst elements of the series which then lead to some unwatchable moments in the 7th. I knew that the creators left the show due to money, creative, and contractual reasons and it left me baffled into how bad the show was becoming though the final episodes, not involving ass-hat, were good.
