I’ll make this post short and simple – I watched Something borrowed a while back and I made the draft but I really didn’t take notes or anything. This has led me to this dead end situation where I don’t really remember the movie that well. I remember the plot and the beginning but I can’t place the fact how it ended – probably the way all those romantic comedies end.
Something Borrowed has two leading ladies, one of them Ginnifer Goodwin who plays Rachel, a sophisticated lawyer who has fallen in love with her lawyer friend Dex (Colin Egglesfield). To make things difficult like all the romantic comedies try to do, Dex is engaged to Darcy who is portrayed by Kate Hudson and who is also Rachel’s best friend. John Krasinski plays a friend of Rachel as well and he is also in love with Rachel like Dex actually is so there is some romantic cube going on there.
The main plot is about Rachel and Dex having an affair behind Darcy’s back and all that builds up into a big fight and a brake-up and they all live happily ever after. Sounds about right I think. And since I watched this while studying for my exams I found it entertaining and helpful to my tired brain, hence the 2,5 out of 5 for this one.

The film seems to think that we will find something entertaining about Darcy just because she’s played by Kate Hudson. It’s hard to imagine a worse miscalculation. Just a plain old, terrible film that I couldn’t stand after awhile. Good Review!
